Reishi
Our face cream features Ganoderma lucidum, commonly known as reishi. Reishi contains naturally occurring polysaccharides and antioxidant compounds and has a long history of use in traditional wellness practices.
We include reishi in a formula created to support moisturized, comfortable-looking skin.
Shiitake
Lentinula edodes, commonly known as shiitake, contains naturally occurring compounds such as polysaccharides and ergothioneine.
In the Hongo ritual, shiitake is reserved for the final moisturizing step and paired with reishi in our rich face cream.
Traditionally Prepared Extracts
Our mushroom extracts are prepared using a double-extraction process with water and alcohol. We do not add alcohol separately when blending the finished product; any residual alcohol comes from the mushroom extracts.
The extracts are produced at a concentrated 1:2 ratio of dried mushroom material to solvent using carefully sourced raw materials and purified artesian water.
Apply a small amount to clean, slightly damp skin morning and evening.
- Cleanse with Mushroom Cleansing Oil.
- Follow with Hydrating Mushroom Toner.
- Apply Mushroom Face Cream while the skin is still slightly damp.
Warm the cream between your fingertips, then gently press or massage it into the face and neck. Because the formula is concentrated, begin with less than you think you need.
A Rich, Concentrated Moisturizer
The Mushroom Face Cream has a rich, cushiony texture created with cocoa butter, jojoba oil, castor oil, traditional animal-derived emollients, and aromatic botanicals.
Unlike a lightweight water-based lotion, this is a concentrated moisturizer. Begin with a small amount and add more only if your skin needs it.
Daily Face Moisturizer
Apply a small amount to clean, slightly damp skin morning and evening.
Beard Cream
Warm a small amount between your fingers, then work it through the beard and gently massage it into the skin beneath.
Cleansing Balm
Massage a small amount onto dry skin to loosen makeup and daily buildup. Remove gently with a warm, damp cloth. Avoid direct contact with the eyes.
Dry Areas
Apply sparingly wherever the skin needs additional moisture.

Our botanical oils and other ingredients are selected from sustainability-minded suppliers, prioritizing women-owned and small local businesses whenever possible.
We source our animal-derived ingredients close to home, including bovine oil (tallow) from grass-fed, grass-finished cattle and porcine oil from pasture-raised swine through small local farms using regenerative practices.
